Pablo Cruise is an American pop/rock band from San Francisco currently composed of David Jenkins (guitar and vocals), Cory Lerios (keyboards and vocals), Sergio Gonzalez (drums), Larry Antonino (bass and vocals), and Robbie Wyckoff (vocals and percussion).[1] Formed in 1973, the band released seven studio albums over the next decade, during which time five singles reached the top 25 of the Billboard Hot 100. Pablo Cruise began in San Francisco in 1973 with former members of Stoneground (Cory Lerios on keyboards and vocals, David Jenkins as vocalist and on guitar and Steve Price on drums) and It's a Beautiful Day (Bud Cockrell on bass and vocals).[3] Lerios had formed a band, Together, while

Dave Jenkins has had the Islands in his heart since his school days in sunny Florida where he began surfing and playing music in 1964. He was listening to anything from the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean, to Aretha and Marvin Gaye. His surfing influences were men like Fred Hemmings and Joey Cabell, Corky Carroll and Mickey Dora. Hawai'i was the dream.
In 1966, Dave moved west to California, and began playing clubs and concert halls, and working in music stores. In 1973, Dave and musical partners, Corey Lerios on keyboards, and drummer Steve Price, teamed up with bassist and singer, Bud Cockrell, to form the California lifestyle band, Pablo Cruise. On A&M Records, Pablo Cruise recorded seven LP's and their rockin' Island sound found its way to the national airwaves. From "Ocean Breeze" and "Island Woman" on the debut album, to radio hits "Love Will Find A Way", "Whatcha Gonna Do", and "Place In The Sun" among others, Pablo Cruise established itself as one of California's great 70's bands. Dave's first visit to his dream Hawai'i was with Pablo Cruise in 1978. Today, you still hear

"The bottom line is the record. We can't try to be too image conscious; we have to take some chances and be in control of what we do. We can't get bored making the same records. It's easy to say 'is there 'A Place in the Sun' or 'Love Will Find a Way' on there?"--Cory Lerios
Jerry Moss signed Pablo Cruise to A&M Records in 1975. The group would record seven albums over ten years for A&M.
Pablo Cruise's instrumentals were used in the CBS Sports Spectacular, NBC's Sports World, ABC's Wide World of Sports ("Zero to 60 in 5 Seconds") and Monday Night Football.
The band shared a bill with the Beach Boys and Steve Miller playing the first ever rock show at Giants Stadium at the Meadowlands. The group started touring in May and stayed on the road through August. In September the band started a tour on the west coast.
To support the A Place in the Sun album, A&M worked with radio stations on contests with prizes that ranged from Pablo Cruise beach towels to "place in the sun" vacations. The band toured and did television appearances to su
