Ambassador Ron Prosor
Ron Prosor served as Israelâs permanent representative to the UN, where he was notably the vice president of the UNâs 67th General Assembly during 2012 and 2013. Before this, Prosor was Israelâs ambassador to the United Kingdom and held the position of director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His diplomatic career also includes significant roles in Washington, London, and Bonn. He played a key role in establishing diplomatic relations behind the Iron Curtain following the fall of the Berlin Wall.

WASHINGTON, April 26 – Hudson Institute announced today that Ron Prosor, the former Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, has joined Hudson as a Distinguished Fellow. In this role, Prosor will examine U.S.-Israel relations, broader Middle East economic, political, and security questions, and challenges facing the United Nations.

Ron Prosor (Hebrew: רון פרושאור; born 11 October 1958)[1][2] is an Israeli diplomat, writer, and columnist. He has served a Israel's ambassador to Germany since August 22, 2022.[3] He previously served as Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2011 to 2015, Israel's Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2007 to 2011, as well as Director-General of Israel's Foreign Ministry and political consul at the Israeli embassy in Washington.[4] He is the head of the Abba Eban Institute for International Diplomacy in IDC Herzliya Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy & Strategy.
Biography
Born on 11 October 1958 in Kfar Saba, Israel, Prosor is a graduate of the IDF Battalion Command. As an officer in the Artillery Division of the IDF, Prosor attained the rank of Major. He holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, graduating with distinction.
