‘Another upstanding DEI hire’: NY anti-addiction agency's ex-commissioner slammed after her DUI arrest

AUBURNDALE, FLORIDA: Arlene Gonzalez-Sanchez was thrashed online after it was revealed she was arrested for DUI and hitting parked vehicles before urinating on herself.

The New York Post reported that the former head of the state’s Office of Addiction Services and Supports was arrested in the City of Auburndale on Friday, June 28, after a test disclosed she had a blood alcohol content of .20, which was far more than the allowed limit of .08.

The publication citing the DA’s office stated that Arlene Gonzalez-Sanchez was arraigned on Saturday, June 29, as charges were pressed against her for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, and others.

NYPD Officer Christopher Machalek in the complaint explained that Gonzalez-Sanchez was taken into custody after he heard an accident noise near the intersection of 50th Avenue and Weeks Lane at around 10:15 pm.

Under the Commissioner’s leadership, OASAS works to realize her vision for transforming the current system of care for individuals with substance use disorders into a comprehensive, patient-centered and family-focused system. Commissioner González-Sánchez serves on the Governor’s Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) Behavioral Health Subcommittee. She is co-chair of the State’s Behavioral Health Services Advisory Council and a co-chair of the Responsible Play Partnership which addresses problem gambling in New York State. Governor Cuomo also appointed Commissioner Arlene Gonzalez-Sanchez to serve as Member
