Adam smith biography completar

Born outside Chicago, I grew up mainly in central California and have been in Utah since the early 1980s. After earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting, I switched careers and earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Brigham Young University in 1996. I completed my internship at the Counseling Center at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and am a licensed Psychologist.

Prior to coming to SLCC, I worked with college students at the counseling/health center of the University of Alaska Fairbanks and later with older adults at Valley Behavioral Health. I’ve been the Manager of Counseling Services at SLCC since 2012.

I maintain a healthy skepticism toward schools of therapy, diagnostic categories, and the latest mental health fads. Empirical research points toward the qualities of the relationship between therapist and client as the strongest factor leading to healing and change.
