This key statement comes at the center of Agatha Christie, A Mysterious Life, Laura Thompson’s remarkable biography of the author, which was published last year and which I’m just getting around to. Biographies aren’t really my thing: they’re often either too sensationalist or so exhaustive as to be exhausting. Plus, I’ve run into a few situations where these books yield unwelcome information about much beloved luminaries that taints, sometimes significantly, future enjoyment of their work.
But this couldn’t happen with Christie, my favorite author, of whom I already thought I knew a great deal, despite the fact that her own autobiography is one of the great disappointments of my reading life. Not that it wasn’t perfectly charming; it was simply unforthcoming of all the information I craved – about her inspiration, her methods, her feelings for her writing. Mystery (often stylized as MYSTERY) is a Canadian rock band formed in 1986 by multi-instrumentalist Michel St-Père. The band released their eponymous debut EP in 1992 with Raymond and Gary Savoie on lead vocals, followed by their first album Theatre of the Mind in 1996 and then Destiny? in 1998, both with Gary on lead vocals. In 2007 the band released their third album Beneath the Veil of Winter's Face with singer Benoît David who would record two more studio albums with the band: One Among the Living in 2010 and The World is a Game in 2012.

Erik von Markovik (born Erik James Horvat-Marković;[1] September 24, 1971[2]), more popularly known by his stage nameMystery, is a Canadian pickup artist and television personality. He was profiled in Neil Strauss's The Game and he appeared on the VH1 television show The Pickup Artist.[2][3]
He has been criticized for promoting unethical and manipulative behavior.[4]
His work has also been used to help people to initiate long-term stable relationships, as the study "The Dating Mind: Evolutionary Psychology and the Emerging Science of Human Courtship", done using his book The Mystery Method. [5]
